Three of the four pieces of my cloak and a preview of the finished product
and my messy apartment in the background oh sweet lord and lady. The entire thing is not yet complete (and, as you can see, I definitely have some ironing to do), but it is well on its way! The full wingspan is enough to brush the floor, hence why I have my arms out slightly.
For the curious, the plastic sheeting is down so that the Fray Block does not soak into the carpet. It’s about the consistency of water and makes a huge mess, but it seems to do its job of holding rough edges together fairly well.
I was heavily inspired by the fabulous and incredible Melita Curphy, aka Miss Monster, who made a couple of wing cloaks once upon a time. Mine will not be nearly as detailed as hers; she is much better at paints than I could ever hope to be.
